Who cares about politics?

Poetry Jul 13, 2021

In the greed of pride they rob off,
A common man's earnings, so few,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

A soldier, who's now old,
His pensions are all due,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

A little girl brutally raped,
Before her body even grew,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

In the name of religion and caste,
Hundreds are beaten and killed, too,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

Millions are unemployed,
Yet there's somehow revenue,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

Farmers are dying, yet go unheard,
No matter what they do,
But who cares about politics?
It does not concern you.

The dumb and dull are ruling the country,
While the wise sit at home and fuss,
It's high time we care about politics,
It concerns each one of us.
