The Morning

Poetry Apr 14, 2020

I was awakened by the chirrups, she was curled up next to me.
In the cradle of my arms, like a petal wakes up with dew.

She's asleep like a baby and my world felt the bliss.

She snugged around my arm, she knows I'm her abode.
Her breath embraced my neck, like a wave meets its shore.

I've talked to her serenity, it tells me what she dreams.

She was a sleepy head.
Her hair smelled like ocean.
I kept poking her fluffy cheeks.
Aiming her tiny dimple.

It was a moment I found,
Which I just knew was worth my life.

A tickle on her nose finally woke her up.
Loving me with her gaze,
She was blushing in her smile.

She stroked my messy hair, pressed her fingers on my skin.
She loved me with her eyes and kissed my waiting lips.

I was awakened by the chirrups,
giggling at myself,
I picked my phone to tell her,
I had been dreaming again.
