Summer Lovin'

Poetry May 29, 2020

Butterflies in my stomach
Your hand full of daisies
Tell me more, tell me more
We discuss the July weather

That Italian bistro with the gleaming lights
The future, art and literature
Tell me more, tell me more
We share the chocolate dessert

Eyes closed, a kiss, not inviting you inside
My eyes shut, the exigency to forget, your vulturine eyes
Tell me more, tell me more
Crying in my own apartment

Boasting to the mates
The society, the people; all they say is
"Tell me more, tell me more
Did she put up a fight?"
