Some things seem too hard,
For us to come to understand;
So you say its ‘them’ who cannot change,
But you always can.
So you shackle your afraid heart,
To the prison of your mind;
And you teach your eyes to see,
The only beauty that ‘they’ find.
You surround yourself with walls,
Your sorrows swept off the floor;
And you keep looking to someone else,
To show you how you can be more.
You forget to draw the line,
In thinking that you will get tough;
But where is the point at which you learn?
That you are already enough.
Because one day you might confess,
And see how much you grow;
When your mind will not hold on to,
And your heart will let it go.
