Light Years

Poetry Apr 18, 2020

Patience
like the
setting sun

is like a wager,
easy to lose
even with luck

sometimes branded
unsettling too

beautiful to behold,
difficult to hold
for even a
second
longer than
intended

once the
purpose is
fulfilled
neither stay,
still all are in
a frenzy to
capture both
for themselves

forgetting
that both do
arrive,
without fail

one on time,
the other with time
